I bask in rays therapeutic,
As this strange sun shines and soothes
Nightlong, day in, day out.
Whenever it rains or a heat wave scorches
Whenever I am cold, parched or bruised
Your healing rays, mellifluous notes
Embalm each wound with loving care;
I can still feel and also dare.
A sudden snatch of song
Rises like fine smoke from a magic lamp;
It thrills and succours my very being
As light engulfs me everywhere.
Like a patient parent to a sick child
Are you to me, rare Rabindranath.
