(Original in Bengali by Tagore – ‘Seshlekha’

At the bank of the river Rupnaryan,
Come to know the very world
It is not a dream.
I see myself,
Imprinted on blooded syllables.
Grown enough to learn myself
Through shocks after shocks
With pains within pains;
That truth is tougher,
I love tougher one.
It has never deceived me
A Life until death is full of meditation
To gain supreme prices of truth,
Required to repay all debts over death.
No.-13, 27TH July 1941
The sun of very first day
At the first sight of living existence -
Who are you?
The answer remains obscure.
Years after years have passed
The last setting sun at the end of the day
A last question uttered at western seashore,
In an unmoved evening -
Who are thou?
The answer is cloaked in mystery.
