13 Apr 2017: Prof SK Palhan’s “Self-Effectiveness: The Power of Meditation” launched



Prof SK Palhan’s book, Self-Effectiveness: The Power of Meditation, was released on April 9, 2017, at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Prof SK Palhan, an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University, is the Founder Director of Great Lakes Institute of Management and was the Founder Director of Sri Sringeri Sharada Institute of Management, based on the Indian values system. He was an Industrial Advisor in the Ministry of Industries, Govt. of India and an advisor to CENJOWS (Centre for Joint Warfare Studies in the Ministry of Defence). He is engaged in rural development in remote villages of Uttarakhand and has conducted more than 300 programmes on self-effectiveness for corporates, management institutions, schools, and government organizations.

The book, published by Sterling Publishers, discusses the infinite potential of human beings and how it is reduced due to past worries, anxiety about the future, emotional disturbances, and undirected activities, and how these can be minimized through meditation, self-discipline, and other aspects, to maximize one’s potential.

The event had a huge turnout of over a 100 people, including students, management stalwarts from corporates, and professors and the teaching fraternity. The chief guest was Dr Mrityunjay Athreya, a renowned management guru and recipient of Padma Bhushan. The guest of honour was Mohan Lakhamraju, an exceptional entrepreneur as well as management professional, passionate about high quality education and its ability to transform life. They spoke of their experiences with Dr SK Palhan and praised his passion for self-effectiveness.

The event was a grand success, with copies of the book being sought eagerly by one and all, and everyone leaving with the thought, “Let us not worry about the past or be anxious about the future. Self-effectiveness is living in the present.”
