Maria Cristina Azcona was born and also lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with her husband Ernesto Castellano, and two grown ups, Silvina and Fernando. She is a bilingual poetess and novelist, peace researcher and Educational Psychologist whose articles, reviews, poems and short stories are being published in many newspapers, magazines and anthologies around Argentina, UK, India and US.
Her first poetry book “Window to Heaven” has been released through Cyberwit Publishers, India, on March 1, 2006. She has written and published four books all in Spanish (a novel “La Voz del Ángel”, an essay, “Estar de Novios Hoy” (with her husband) and two poetry collections, “Dos Talles Menos de Cerebro” and “Mundo Postmoderno , illustrated by the author.
In 2000 she started to write in English with a unique intention: to spread her peace ideals, worldwide. In 2001, she founded an international organization called Bilingual MCA International Poets & Writers for Peace. Since 2002, she is Editorial Advisor for “The Taj Mahal Review”, a bimonthly literary journal devoted to arts, literature, poetry and culture, published by Cyberwit.net., India. In 2004 she was selected as Director in Argentina for the International Forum for Literature and Culture of Peace (IFLAC Pave Peace.) Since 2005, she has been a honorary member of the Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies( HD&HS,) Global Core Team, Columbia University, New York, US, and received a title as Universal Peace Ambassador in the framework of the Universal Ambassadors Peace Circle, Geneva, Switzerland. Her bilingual poems and articles have appeared in Spirit Magazine, EAP Bulletin, Poesia, Latino Today, Meeting of the Minds Journal and Poetry Magazine, US; Taj Mahal Review (every issue) and the anthologies: The Golden Wings, Voyages, Explorers, New Pegasus, The Still Horizon, Symphonies, Harvests of New Millennium, all by Cyberwit.net. In India, Metverse Muse published her poetry, twice since 2005. Also in India. Kabita Pakshik and The Mango Tree have published her work in Bengali, English and Spanish.
In 2005, her poem “Family Abuse” was published by The Once Orange Badge Poetry Supplement, UK, (It is specialized in poetry- therapy). Her articles and poems on Peace can be read in EOLSS Encyclopedia, edited jointly by UNESCO and EOLSS, UK. In Jordan, Aman Magazine and the popular newspaper “Al rai” have published her articles in 2004. In Spain, her poems can be read in the anthology Verano Encantado by Centro Poetico de Madrid. Since 2005, her bilingual articles and poems are being published in other countries, like Norway, (Three Legged Waltz, a book by Adam Powell) and Brazil.
