Annie George was born in Durgapur, West Bengal in 1970. Her early years were spent in that State. She had her higher education in Kerala. She won laurels for the institutions she studied in, including Kalathilakam, for securing first places in poetry composition and short story writing in English at the All-Kerala Inter University Training Colleges Youth Festival held at Farook, Calicut, in 1995.

After a brief period of teaching in Schools and College within and outside India, she turned to working as an Assistant in the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.

Her first collection of poems, Gladioli and Other Poems, was published in Sep. 2006. She occasionally translates poems that suits her style.

She is now settled at Kottayam with her husband J.C.Thomas and their two children.
