R a vi Sri Krishna M oorthy (6.6.1939 - 2.7.2001) was a reputed translator and Telugu short story writer of yesteryears.  He had very humble beginnings. With only an SSLC and Type and Shorthand Higher certificates in his hand, he joined Bhilai Steel Plant in 1957 and acquired academic and professional qualifications, including ICWA, ACS, and BL. He joined Ferro Scrap Nigam in 1989 as AGM and retired as an OSD. He had to his credit a collection of short stories, " Chayachitralu " in Telugu, which received the Jyeshtha Literary Award, and The Palette , the first of a tetralogy of select Telugu short stories rendered into English. The Easel , The Canvas and The Painting were published posthumously by his co-translator.
